We have an exciting opportunity for Welding positions in Newport News, Virginia!
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Welding 5/16” thick dry dock cell wall plate after fit with single bevel groove welds flush
- Welding either FCAW (Flux-core) or SMAW (Stick)
- Grinding and cleaning any imperfections
- All welds will be visually inspected
- Must have experience using 60ft Ariel Boom Lift
- Lift, carry, push and pull at least 80lbs
- Help stock materials in and around the worksite
- Help take trash off of the worksite
Qualifications:
- At least two years of SMAW and FCAW
- Ability to pass a plate test provided by Client in Suffolk, VA
- Must have at least one year of shipyard experience
- Must have at least two years of welding experience
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
- Overtime could be required on Saturday and Sunday
