Position Summary:
The Athletics Event Laborer supports our client by performing a variety of tasks related to the moving, delivery, setup, and storage of equipment, and other items across campus to set up for games taking place on campus. This role is vital in supporting campus relocations, event setups, surplus inventory management, and general logistical support for departments and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, transport, and unload equipment, boxes, and other items between campus buildings, stadiums and storage facilities.
- Set up and break down of equipment for campus events, meetings, and special functions.
- Manage storage inventory, including organizing, labeling, and tracking items in storage facilities.
- Deliver packages, surplus items, and equipment across campus as requested.
- Follow proper safety procedures for lifting, loading, and transporting items.
- Perform basic assembly/disassembly as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the moving and storage areas.
- Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Virginia driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Experience operating moving equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude for furniture assembly/disassembly
- Preferred:
- Previous experience in a moving, warehouse, or facilities environment
- Familiarity with college or university campus operations
- CDL or forklift certification a plus
Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy items.
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts to support campus events and move schedules
- You will be responsible for your own parking fees of $21.00 per month.
