We have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Surveyor/Office Manager in Ellicott City Maryland!
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Responsible for maintaining clear and timely communications, professionalism, and morale throughout the branch office. Ensures timely reports of office status to main office.
- Provides leadership to staff and project team members; establishes clear performance standards, motivates, and obtains cooperation by providing effective and timely feedback for staff and team member’s performance.
- Contributes to the financial growth by cost effective operations of branch office.
- Ensures effective project management by allocating manpower and resources for work in the branch office to be completed on time, within budget and meeting quality control guidelines. This includes ensuring that employees in the branch office are productively employed to the maximum extent practical and that all work performed is profitable.
- Ensures continued development of self and staff capabilities for the branch office through programs which enhance technical, management, and communication skills.
- Prepares proposals for work to be performed by the branch office. Reviews and recommends contracts for signature to management. Ensures all contracts for the branch office are negotiated to provide maximum profitability consistent with overall corporate objectives. Approves all project schedules and contract budgets for the branch office. Ensures contract budgets are met and estimates are complete and updated as conditions change. Monitors projects’ profitability.
- Signs off on all plans, reports and other work products generated by the branch office which require a duly authorized signature. Ensure limited liability by staying alert to legal implications related to the branch office.
- Responsible for maintaining client relationships and aiding business development manager in development of prospective clients in their geographic market.
- Responsible for building and enhancing the corporate image by active participation in appropriate organizations and maintains significant contact with current and potential clients.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Autocad, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
- Contributes to the overall team efforts by completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE Professional Surveyor and Mappers License
- Must be Rapid Gate Pass eligible
- AutoCAD with Civil 3D, Trimble (TBC and TGO) and Topcon (Civil Suite, SurvCE) capabilities is preferred
- Proven track record of principles and techniques of employee supervision, training and evaluation
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and municipal regulations, codes, and specifications
- Knowledge of Maryland’s Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM)
- Able to perform mathematical calculations requiring probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of algebra, geometry and trigonometry
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday. 8am-5pm Must be flexible to work varying hours as needed
Pay:
- $80k-$120k annually based on experience
