About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Engineering Applications Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing access and accounts for various engineering applications, troubleshooting installation and license issues, and interfacing with vendors to resolve problems. Additionally, this role involves managing a helpdesk using Jira, triaging tickets, communicating with users to define their issues, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Application Management:
- Manage access and accounts for engineering applications.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and provide solutions.
- Address and resolve license-related issues.
- Interface with vendors to solve complex problems and ensure smooth operation of engineering applications.
Helpdesk Management:
- Utilize Jira to manage helpdesk tasks and workflows.
- Triage incoming tickets into appropriate categories and communicate tasking with co-workers
- Communicate with users to fully understand and define their issues.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Network Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Effective written, presentation, and oral communication skills
- Proven experience in Enterprise Tool administration, debugging and solving client and server-side application issues, software installation, configuration, etc.
- Proficiency in administrating Jira or similar ticketing systems for helpdesk management and project administration
- Experience creating documentation in Confluence or a similar documentation tool.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interface with vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with users and understand their needs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with specific engineering applications (e.g., mechanical CAD software, CAD software, software development tool set, simulation tools, etc.).
- Understanding of network fundamentals; switching, routing, etc.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and software installation processes.
- Knowledge of VMware vCenter or similar tool: Capable of performing routine tasks including monitoring, creating and migrating virtual machines, managing snapshots, and conducting basic troubleshooting within the vCenter environment.
- Basic understanding of Linux servers: Ability to navigate the file system, execute basic commands, and perform routine tasks such as checking system logs, managing user permissions, writing simple Bash scripts, using SSH for remote access, and configuring Samba for file sharing.
- Experience in license management: Proficient in managing software licenses using tools such as FlexNet, including tracking license usage, ensuring compliance, managing license daemons, and optimizing license allocation.
- Experience with LDAP and SAML for user management and authentication.
Pay range: $45 - 55 per hour.
