Job Purpose
The Production Associate – Sorter is responsible for processing donated goods efficiently and accurately to ensure high productivity, a safe work environment, and a strong customer experience. Items are evaluated for quality and routed for resale or recycle according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort donated materials from carts while maintaining productivity standards
- Make quick quality and cleanliness decisions on merchandise
- Properly separate usable items into designated departments; route non-usable or recyclable items as directed
- Sort a variety of goods including clothing, linens, accessories, shoes, and household items
- Move and stage carts safely; request assistance as needed
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free workstation
- Demonstrate awareness of brand-name merchandise
- Assist team members and other departments as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs. for extended periods
- Work performed in a warehouse with concrete flooring
- Role involves handling used items that may require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves or masks when needed
- Must maintain a neat, safe, and organized work area at all times
