Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipfitter in Newport News, Virginia!

Job Duties entail but are not limited to:

Fitting 5/16” thick repair plates so that plate follows same radius as dry dock cell wall
Assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner
Using welding machine to tack plate while aligning
Using hand tools such as hammer / dogs & wedges to align plate
Removing any temporary brace plates / padeyes from fit up using a 6” grinder with cutting wheel

Qualifications:

Must have at least two years of shipfitting experience
Must be able to operate 60ft Aerial Boom Lift

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
Overtime could be required on Saturday and Sunday

Pay:

Up to $30/hour
