We have an exciting opportunity for Shipfitters at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine for with one of our Clients in the Ship Repair Industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of Fitting experience
- Must have security clearance
- Working with presses, floor shaping, forming plates, shaping from templates, marking symbols, doors, hatches and scuttles, rolls, presses and blacksmith shop
- Tack welding
- Air carbon Arc gouging
- Burning -Oxygen/propane burning
- Heating-Oxygen/Propane heating torch
- Blueprint reading
- Riveted join repairs
- Gouging
- Replace hull inserts
- Make up complex shaped shell pates, decks, and bulkheads
- Torch experience
- Experience with grinders and needle guns
- Comprehend fractional dimensions as with the use of a ruler, layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
HOURS:
- All Shift, could work 8, 10 or 12 hours per shift depending on demand
