Job Description/Requirements:
- Must have 4 years commercial/naval experience as a first class Shipfitter.
- Multi-Pass Tack Welding.
- Burning-Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch, Heating-Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
- Comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches to include weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines.
- Understand fractional dimensions as with the use of a ruler, layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly, assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner, use Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute required work.
- Use vibratory tools:
- Grinders
- needle guns
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
- Ability to Erect, Set and Makeup Complex-shaped Shell Plates, Decks, Bulkheads, Longitudinals, trunks
- Install and Replace Hull Inserts and Penetrations
- Must be able to climb up and down vertical ladders, bend, squat, kneel, work in confined spaces & around moving equipment.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pass background check and urinalysis
- Strong Work Ethic
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Willing to work on/around ships
