We have an exciting new opportunity for a local LCAC Outside Mechanic in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain DBIDS
- Must have a minimum 4 years of hands-on mechanical experience with LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cushion)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and propulsion systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and repair manuals.
- Experience with hose fabrication and fitting installation.
- Familiarity with naval maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
Job duties entail but are not limited to:
- Rebuild and repair rudder actuators to ensure accurate steering and maneuverability.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and rebuild bow thrusters to maintain directional stability during operations.
- Manufacture and install hydraulic and pneumatic hose lines following craft schematics and safety standards.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble Propulsion Control Modules (PCMs) to maintain propulsion functionality.
- Diagnose issues and perform repairs on various mechanical systems aboard the craft.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Document maintenance actions and parts usage accurately.
- Coordinate with other maintenance team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and timelines.
