We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Insulator position in Norfolk, Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Marine Insulator
- Must be eligible for DBIDS
- Must have OSHA 10
- Must have experience working with rubber, kalo, fiberglass, pads and haul boards
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Install, remove, repair, and replace thermal and acoustic insulation on piping, machinery, bulkheads, overheads, and ventilation systems aboard ships and submarines
- Fabricate and install removable insulation pads, blankets, and lagging systems
- Measure, cut, fit, and secure insulation materials including fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, and foam-based products
- Apply vapor barriers, jackets, banding, pins, adhesives, and sealants per specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and technical drawings
- Work in confined spaces, at heights, and around active shipyard operations
- Safely use hand and power tools associated with marine insulation work
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and properly dispose of insulation waste
Schedule:
- 6am-1:30pm Monday-Friday
- Must be flexible to work OT and weekends as needed
