Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a fitter or in a related field is preferred but not always required, depending on the complexity of the tasks.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments commonly used in fitting tasks.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Solid understanding of mechanical principles, concepts, and components. Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Precision and Attention to Detail: Excellent precision fitting skills with a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, alignments, and assembly of components.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and solve problems related to fitting and assembly processes. Adaptability to handle unforeseen challenges and adjust techniques as required.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions accurately.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assembly and Installation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to assemble and install mechanical components, machinery, and systems according to required measurements and tolerances.
- Precision Fitting: Utilize hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to accurately fit, align, and adjust components to ensure proper functioning and alignment.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, drilling, and shaping them as necessary to achieve the desired specifications.
- Welding and Fabrication: Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks to connect and join metal components as required.
- Inspection and Testing: Inspect finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Conduct tests and adjust as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including measurements, adjustments, and any deviations from specifications. Complete necessary documentation and reports as required.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm
Pay:
- $32-$37 per hour based on experience
