Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a welder in a professional setting. Familiarity with different welding techniques and the ability to work with various types of metals.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Strong knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and machinery. Ability to operate welding machines and related equipment safely.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure precise welds and adherence to specifications. Ability to identify welding defects and take corrective measures.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Thorough understanding of welding safety procedures and practices. Committed to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues effectively. Adaptability to handle unforeseen challenges and adjust welding techniques as required.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform welding operations using various techniques such as arc welding, gas welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, and flux-cored arc welding. Select the appropriate welding method based on the type of metal, project requirements, and welding codes.
- Interpret and comprehend blueprints, engineering drawings, and other technical documents to understand welding requirements, dimensions, and specifications.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling, as necessary. Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of metal components prior to welding.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Identify and correct any welding defects or issues that may compromise the integrity of the weld.
- Maintain and care for welding equipment, tools, and machinery. Perform regular inspections, cleanings, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and injuries. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices while operating welding equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and any deviations from specifications. Complete necessary documentation and reports as required.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm
Pay:
- $32-$37 per hour based on experience
