We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nuclear Project Manager position in Chesapeake Virginia in a CLIMATE CONTROLLED SHOP!
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Manage Large Nuclear Motor Repair Projects, including the following:
- Always abide by all company safety & regulatory policies
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers related to jobs you are managing
- Responsible for creating and managing project budget and schedule
- Generate and maintain electronic and hardcopy paperwork for Non-Safety Related and Safety Related Motor Repairs.
- Generate Initial Reports and submit to customers for approval and additional funding
- Generate “Production Plans” to guide the entire repair process based on customer specifications, technical evaluation, and schedule
- Maintain schedule and upkeep of project status using Smartsheet and provide updates
- Coordinate with other Departments when shared resources are required to complete repairs
- Quote and procure all non-stock replacement parts and materials
- Attend daily production meetings with key shop personnel and take part/coordinate other regular update meetings or technical discussions as required
- On occasion take part in Customer Specification reviews and provide comment/feedback
- Obtain and maintain Radiological Qualifications to allow access to Radiological Controlled and Contaminated Areas
- Maintain consistent accessibility to Department Manager/Shop personnel/Sales team/Customer (off-hour access to phone and email is expected) – Company Cell Phone Provided
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact professionally is mandatory
- Minimum 8 years working in mechanical manufacturing/repair environment
- Minimum 4 years working in an electric motor repair facility
- Familiar with manufacturing and machine shop environment
- Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree is preferred not required
- Must be proficient with MS Word & Excel (will be assessed during interview process)
- Must be familiar with an industrial safety environment
- Experience with rotating equipment and nuclear power is preferred
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings/technical data is required
- Possess a positive team player attitude and overall motivation to succeed
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday
- 7:30am-4pm are standard hours, but candidate must be flexible outside of these hours where needed
Pay:
- $65,000-$70,000 annual salary based on experience
