Job Purpose
The Sales Floor Supervisor supports the Store Manager by overseeing daily sales floor operations and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role provides hands-on leadership to sales associates, maintains visual standards, and enforces store policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cashiers and sales floor associates to ensure exceptional customer service
- Lead cash operations: opening and closing tills, balancing drawers, securing funds, and preparing daily sales reports
- Support store merchandising including organization, pricing, markdowns, and furniture placement
- Assist in planning daily and weekly operations with the Store Manager
- Evaluate employee performance and assist with needed documentation
- Train and coach new team members in customer service and store procedures
- Ensure a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment while enforcing all policies and standards
- Act as a role model and leader on the sales floor
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to develop floor plans and implement operational goals
- Retail operations, merchandising, and cash handling experience required
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in fast-paced situations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Prior supervisory and retail/customer-facing experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience considered
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Retail and warehouse support including moderate to heavy lifting as needed
- Frequent time on sales floor and occasional assistance with donations and furniture
- Must maintain safety for all employees, customers, and operations
