We have an exciting opportunity for Pipefitters at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine for with one of our Clients in the Ship Repair Industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must hold active security clearance
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of specialized experience working on U.S. Navy or commercial marine vessels independently performing pipefitting tasks.
- Capable of installing, repairing, or modifying high- and low-pressure systems involving water, steam, gas, oil, and associated piping components.
- Experienced in fabricating and assembling piping systems classified as P-1, P-2, and P-3 as defined in S9074-AR-GIB-010/278.
- Able to perform all stages of piping work including cutting, bending, shaping, aligning, and mounting metal piping systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, piping schematics, and ship installation drawings.
- Capable of performing shop math calculations involving geometry, including angles, arcs, and circles for layout and fit-up.
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, depth gauges, and calipers to perform close-tolerance work.
- Capable of inspecting, testing, and removing installed piping systems, including valves, hangers, and hardware.
HOURS:
- May work 8,10 or 12 hours shifts determined by the project.
