We have an exciting opportunity for a Metal Sander/Finisher position in Newport News, Virginia!
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Perform basic routine maintenance and cleaning of machine and work area
- Working with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as needed
- Read material tags & work orders, selecting correct materials
- Locate and move raw materials and parts with pallet jack or forklift
- Count and record daily production activity
- Comfortable working in fast paced environment
- Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean working environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. throughout the shift
- Knowledge of sheet metal finishing techniques
- Have understanding of different sanding & grinding media and their proper use
- Experience using hand tools and power tools including but not limited to sander, grinder, belt sander
- Must have experience with various types of metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminum)
- Must have experience finishing thin or light gauge sheet metal in preparation for painting or powder coating
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Experience training others
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday
- 12am-8:30am or 7am-3:30pm
Pay:
- $15-$18/hour based on experience
