We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Insulator position in Norfolk, Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Marine Insulator
- Must have verifiable experience working with sound dampening tile
- Must have experience working with rubber, kalo, fiberglass, pads, and haul boards
- Must have OSHA 10 certification
- Must be eligible for DBIDS access
- Must have ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Install, remove, repair, and replace acoustic and thermal insulation on piping, machinery, bulkheads, overheads, and ventilation systems aboard ships and submarines
- Fabricate and install sound dampening tiles, removable insulation pads, blankets, and lagging systems
- Measure, cut, fit, and secure insulation materials including rubber, kalo, fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, and foam-based products
- Apply vapor barriers, jacketing, banding, pins, adhesives, and sealants according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform work in confined spaces, at heights, and in active shipyard environments
Schedule:
- 6am-1:30pm Monday-Friday
- Must be flexible to work OT and weekends as needed
Pay:
- $24-25/hour based on experience
