We have a wonderful opportunity for machine operators in Crofton, MD with a local manufacturer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Machine operator experience and mechanical skills
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
- Must be a self-starter and work independently and assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
- Must make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, lift/move product up to 50lbs, and will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently and follow supervisor’s instructions and the company’s safety policies to ensure that the products coming off the machine meet company standards for quality. Safety and consistency are top priorities.
- Review instructions that tell you what product is being made, what materials are needed, and how the machine should be set up.
- Will physically adjust the machine’s measuring devices — like stops, guides, or rulers — to control the length, height, or thickness of the product being made.
- Will keep an eye (and ear) out for anything unusual — like strange noises, jams, or defective output and inspect the finished product to make sure it looks right and meets company quality standards.
- Will handle simple maintenance tasks — cleaning, lubricating parts, replacing worn components, or checking oil levels — to keep the machine running well.
- You may help coworkers adjust or prepare their machines, or jump in to handle general labor tasks (like loading materials or stacking finished products) to meet production goals and may occasionally be asked to handle extra tasks that support production — such as helping in another department, loading trucks, or completing paperwork.
- Will be responsible for keeping your workspace clean and organized — sweeping up debris, putting tools away, and ensuring materials aren’t blocking aisles.
HOURS:
- 5am-5pm, Monday through Thursday
- 5am-5pm, Monday through Saturday one week and Tuesday through Saturday the next.
PAY:
- Pay ranges from $18 to $22 an hour depending on experience.
