Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Meter Reader to join our clients team. The Meter Reader is responsible for accurately reading and recording utility meter data for residential and commercial properties. This position plays a key role in ensuring customer billing accuracy and supporting efficient service delivery through dependable fieldwork and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and record electricity, water, and gas meter data on a scheduled basis.
- Use handheld devices or mobile applications to input readings accurately.
- Inspect meters and report any irregularities, malfunctions, or damage.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in readings to ensure data accuracy.
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with customers.
- Operate a vehicle safely with frequent stops and starts throughout the day.
- Work independently in outdoor environments and adhere to all safety standards.
- Complete assigned routes without cutting corners or compromising accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and entry.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of utility services and equipment preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Valid Drivers License preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk 1–5 miles per day and navigate varied terrains.
- Frequent bending, crouching, stair climbing, and lifting up to 45 lbs.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in challenging conditions.
Performance Expectations
- Complete a minimum of 300 meter readings per day once trained.
- Maintain consistent performance regardless of weather or route challenges.
- Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and commitment to accuracy.

- 6:30am-5pm Monday-Friday and must be able to work some Saturdays
