We have an exciting new opportunity for a Machinist in Hampton!
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of machine tools and their operation, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Precision Measurement: Experience with precision measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine tools, parts, or production processes
- Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and accuracy when machining parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of machining processes and maintenance
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Set Up and Operate Machines: Operate and set up a variety of machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, drills) to produce high-precision metal or plastic parts.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the dimensions and tolerances of the parts to be produced.
- Select and Install Tools: Choose the correct cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on the materials being worked with and the specifications provided.
- Measure and Inspect: Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet the required dimensions and tolerances.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper function. Report any mechanical issues or breakdowns to supervisors.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet high-quality standards, performing final checks before parts are sent to assembly or finished product stages.
- Modify and Adjust Machines: Adjust machine settings to optimize performance, including correcting or making changes to tolerances during production runs.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machining issues such as incorrect dimensions, tool wear, or machine malfunctions.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the work area is clean and organized.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to meet production goals and deadlines.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30 or 7:00am-3:30
Pay:
- $30.00 per hour to $38.00 per hour based on experience
