Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for Lead Marine Technician in Hayes Virginia! Job Duties entail but are not limited to:

Act as Lead Technician on assigned group of work with an emphasis on private yachts, particularly sailing catamarans
Supervise and lead a small team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Prepare time and materials based estimates for work.
Provide guidance and support to technicians, including training and mentoring to enhance their skills and ensure quality workmanship.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals.
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure that all work meets or exceeds established standards and customer expectations.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment, minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries.
Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies
Collaborate with customers, providing technical support and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
Assist in monitoring and enhancing team performance, project status, and other relevant performance metrics with management.
Assist in recruitment of new technicians.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 10 years of experience with 15+ preferred
Extensive knowledge of marine service and repair
Mastery of diesel engines, marine air conditioning / refrigeration, marine electrical and plumbing systems.
Proficiency in marine electronics, sailboat rigging, paint systems and/or fiberglass & gelcoat skills is a valuable addition.
Knowledge of best boatyard practices
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technicians to achieve goals and deliver high-quality results.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to
prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
General knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Effective in using relevant tools, equipment, and software applications.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm
Flexible to come in on Weekends if needed

Pay:

$65,000 to $85,000 per year based on experience plus bonus opportunities based on performance
