We have an exciting opportunity for Lead Marine Technician in Hayes Virginia!
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Act as Lead Technician on assigned group of work with an emphasis on private yachts, particularly sailing catamarans
- Supervise and lead a small team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Prepare time and materials based estimates for work.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians, including training and mentoring to enhance their skills and ensure quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure that all work meets or exceeds established standards and customer expectations.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment, minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with customers, providing technical support and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Assist in monitoring and enhancing team performance, project status, and other relevant performance metrics with management.
- Assist in recruitment of new technicians.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with 15+ preferred
- Extensive knowledge of marine service and repair
- Mastery of diesel engines, marine air conditioning / refrigeration, marine electrical and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in marine electronics, sailboat rigging, paint systems and/or fiberglass & gelcoat skills is a valuable addition.
- Knowledge of best boatyard practices
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technicians to achieve goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to
- prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
- General knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Effective in using relevant tools, equipment, and software applications.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm
- Flexible to come in on Weekends if needed
Pay:
- $65,000 to $85,000 per year based on experience plus bonus opportunities based on performance
