Position Summary:
The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of campus buildings to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in supporting the daily operations and emergency readiness of the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, buffing and shampooing floors and stairwells.
- Maintain and clean custodial equipment; work safely with chemicals and tools.
- Restock and maintain inventory in custodial supply closets to ensure daily availability of necessary materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal and public safety.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning or maintenance needs as required.
- Work flexible shifts, including occasional weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must comply with the University Vehicle Use Policy and complete authorization requirements with the Office of Risk Management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and stair climbing required.
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures (below 32°F and above 90°F).
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required during specific duties.
Pay: $14.25/hour
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 6AM-3PM through July ïƒ 6AM-5PM thru August.
- Starting in September you can switch to 7AM-4PM or 5AM-2PM, Monday thru Friday
