We have an exciting opportunity for an Insulator Helper position in Norfolk, Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of shipboard experience
- Must be eligible for DBIDS
- Must have OSHA 10
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Assist Insulators with installing, removing, and repairing insulation systems on pipes, bulkheads, machinery, and compartments
- Prepare work areas by setting up materials, tools, and equipment
- Cut, fit, and stage insulation materials such as fiberglass, mineral wool, foam, and insulation blankets
- Mix and apply adhesives, mastics, and sealants under supervision
- Remove old or damaged insulation and properly dispose of materials in accordance with shipyard and environmental regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures, including PPE requirements and confined space protocols
- Support Firewatch or containment setup as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors
Schedule:
- 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
- Must be flexible to work OT and weekends as needed
