Human Resources Generalist
Our client is seeking two HR Generalists to play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of their Human Resources department. This position is key to ensuring a positive and productive workplace, where employees feel supported and policies are consistently upheld. We are looking for someone who’s passionate about people and ready to contribute to a growing, hardworking team. The candidate will provide HR support for our first shift employees. The role will require flexibility to support two manufacturing plants located in Virginia Beach as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all first-shift employees, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct independent investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, or policy violations and findings thoroughly.
- Coach supervisors and leads on performance management, corrective actions, and employee engagement strategies.
- Support conflict resolution efforts and help maintain a positive, respectful work environment.
- Facilitate shift onboarding, orientation, and new-hire paperwork to ensure compliance and a smooth start.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, employment laws, and safety regulations.
- Monitor attendance trends, turnover, and workforce planning needs; escalate issues proactively.
- Assist employees with benefits questions, enrollment issues, and leave-of-absence processes.
- Review and validate timekeeping records for second-shift employees; resolve discrepancies with supervisors.
- Support return-to-work processes and accommodations in coordination with HR leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, and at least 4-6 years’ experience in human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
Desired Qualifications
- HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or the ability to obtain certifications.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday. 8am –5pm
Pay:
- $55,000-$85,000/year ($26.44-$40.87/hour)
