We have a wonderful opportunity for equipment operators in Winchester, VA with a local quarry.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a quarry or in construction is preferred.
- Must have valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to work up to a 12 hour shift
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- May be asked to operate heavy machinery (like loaders, skid steers, or conveyors) or assist operators with equipment used to move or process stone.
- Will work in the plant helping load crushed stone or aggregate into rail cars, making sure the materials are staged and ready for shipment. You will help with sampling of products, meaning that small portions will be tested for quality (checking size, consistency, or composition). You will also assist with cleaning up around the plant to keep the area safe and running smoothly (like sweeping, shoveling spillage, or washing down equipment)
- Will perform daily pre-shift procedures and inspections including inspecting equipment and work areas for safety. These checks include checking things like fluid levels, brakes, and safety features on machinery, and reporting any hazards or issues.
HOURS:
- Monday – Friday 6am to 2pm
