Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a First Class Welder in Newport News! Job Duties entail but are not limited to:

Review details of the work package such as technical information, specification items, drawings, manuals, sketches, etc.
Assist production by welding various structures and materials
Perform all other duties as assigned
Able to withstand environmental factors such as:
- Outside weather conditions
- High, precarious places
- Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
- Very loud noise level
  - Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.
  - Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
- Must adhere to applicable documents, references, and safety guidelines
Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:
- Stooping
- Bending
- Squatting
- Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts)
- Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids)

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Welder
Minimum of 3-5 years of shipboard experience
Must be eligible to obtain DBID
OSHA
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must pass background check
SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW experience

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 6am-2:45pm

Pay:

$30/hour
