We have an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator in Norfolk,VA with one of our growing fabrication and machining clients. The Fabricator is responsible for the layout, fit, and welding of metal components to assemble structural forms or products using various welding techniques and fabrication tools. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
- Requires 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or a related field.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols.
- Must have experience in MIG and/or TIG welding. Certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with fabrication equipment such as brakes, shears, and rollers.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, and weld metal materials according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools, grinders, saws, plasma cutters, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
- Press brake, laser, and/or water jet operation
- Perform MIG & TIG welding based on project needs.
- Fit and assemble metal parts using appropriate welding methods and tools.
- Inspect fabricated components for quality assurance and accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including machinists and engineers, to complete projects on time.
HOURS:
- Monday – Thursday 6AM – 4PM
PAY:
- Range is from $20-$24/hour.
