Responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical systems of vessels
Able to read, interpret, and understand simple schematics and blueprints
Participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting, and alarm circuits
Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and electronic equipment and cables
Adjust/Align or replace components of motors, generators, and alternators such as bearings, centrifugal switches, and brushes
Removal and installation of cables found overhead, along a bulk-wall, or underneath deck - cable runs may range from a few feet to more than a thousand feet
Assistance during the cable runs varies according to the cable size, length of the run, and physical difficulty
Must be able to climb up and down vertical ladders, bend, squat, kneel and work in confined spaces
