Position Summary:
A Commercial Carpenter is responsible for building and assembling structural frameworks and interior systems for a commercial building. Duties include reading blueprints, laying out and constructing metal framing, installing sheathing, drywall, doors, windows, and basic finish work. Carpenters ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and building codes while collaborating with other trades on-site. The role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced job site environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble metal framing
- Install walls, floors, ceilings, and structural components
- Hang drywall, doors, windows, and basic finish carpentry elements
- Layout job site materials and ensure accurate placement of structures
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Follow all OSHA and job site safety regulations
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with building codes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of commercial carpentry experience (new construction preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Strong knowledge of framing, drywall, and general carpentry techniques
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Understanding of building codes and job site safety
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay:
- ranges from $23.03 - $28.00/hour
