Chief Engineer (Hydraulic or Booster)Integrity Staffing is looking for a Chief Engineer for our client based in Houston, TX! 
The Chief Engineer works on board a Hydraulic Division Dredge, often referred to as a Cutter Dredge or Booster, and has overall on-site responsibility and authority for the safety and supervision of the vessel’s engine room department and maintenance. This is a hands-on management position and is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the dredging equipment, coordinating and assisting with repairs, scheduling preventative maintenance Standard Jobs and maintaining Critical Spares through the use of a CMMS ABS Nautical Systems. The Chief Engineer is managed, assigned, and mentored by the Division Maintenance Manager and works closely with the assigned Project Maintenance Superintendent for the Dredge or Booster.
This is a 100% travel position with rotation based on the project sites, therefore can live anywhere in the US (preferably along the Gulf or East coast). Rotation schedule is 17 days on/11 days off, daily meal allowance, lodging, and transportation are provided by the client. 
Responsibilities:- Integrate and lead an Incident & Injury free safety culture in all vessels and engineering related operations- Directly supervise the day-to-day engine room operations and maintenance on the dredge- Oversee and manage activities of vendor repair crews on the dredge and assigned attendant for the Project.- Manage the computer-based vessel level preventative maintenance management program (NS5), to include maintenance, regulatory and inventory documentation and record vessel crew training status and requirements for improvement- Assign and supervise all activities of engine room crew- Ensure proper orientation, familiarization and mentoring for new crew members. Evaluate performance of subordinates and recognize, develop and promote talented crew members- Mentor all crew members and promote safety awareness in all operations. Lead pre-shift meetings, Job Safety Analyses and safety walk arounds on the dredge and scows- Coordinate vessel maintenance operations with the Dredge Captain, Project Superintendent and Site Manager.- Coordinate and communicate equipment issues with the Project Maintenance Superintendent and Site Manager- Provide daily reports to all project and shore side management.- Conduct emergency drills as required by the US Coast Guard and keep accurate records- Ensure vessel meets all regulatory requirements and is properly prepared for agency inspections (Coast Guard, Class, etc.) Requirements: - Must possess the ability to understand the principles of operation of an automated engine room monitoring system- 4 years minimum of marine machinery and the electrical equipment- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent Other requirements:- Prior experience in marine and or related engineering industry, including supervisory experience; dredging experience a plus-Excellent safety, mechanical and leadership skills- Shipyard and/or vendor coordination experience a plus- Working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems i.e. motor controls, DC drives, circuits, etc.- The ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical, and structural drawings- Proficient computer skills and maintaining information data bases- Possess a Chief Engineer USCG license a plus- Ability to obtain a TWIC- Valid Driver License Required- Able to domestic and international travel Benefits:- Competitive salary and performance incentive program- 401(k) program that includes 100% company matching of the first 6% of employee contributions with immediate vesting.- Annual profit-sharing contributions by the company to participants 401(k) accounts based on company’s annual performance.- Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability insurance plans.
