We have a wonderful opportunity for an Electrician in Newport News, VA with one of our Clients in the Ship Building Industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have at least 3-5 years of electrician experience. Marine experience preferred
- Must be able to pass hair follicle drug test
- Must be able to read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages.
- Proficient use of basic electrical meters and test instruments like vilt0ohm meter, clamp-on ammeter, insulation resistance testers.
- Layoff and mount electrical equipment and wireways; install cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks; cable installation; cable terminations; and cut-in and hook-up
- Repair, construct, install, troubleshoot, and maintain routine electrical systems and equipment
- Modifies, aligns, calibrates, design, programs, installs, test, troubleshoot and maintain routine electrical systems such as control systems, and a wide variety of industrial infrastructure and production equipment
- Able to cut, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduct as required
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions inspect circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding
- Test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency
HOURS:
- 1st Shift-6am-2:30pm
- 2nd shift-2:30pm-11pm
- 3rd shift 11pm-7am
PAY:
- $22-$27.31/Hour based on experience
- Per Diem is offered for those that qualify
