Integrity Staffing has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Program Manager in Chesapeake, Virginia! 

The Assistant Program Manager is a seasoned producer and/or working task leader who applies a comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of financial/business concepts, contract management, policies, practices, processes, and procedures to the management of ship service contracts programs. 

A successful assistant program manager works alongside the program manager, with general guidance from management. Assists with the preparation and maintains management control (financial/business planning and scheduling) systems for moderately complex contracts, programs, projects, and/or tasks to determine and maintain the most cost-effective method of accomplishing work, identify, and mitigate risks, etc. Contracts may range in value from $5 to $20 million.

 
Major Responsibility (Functions/Duties):
  • Involves regular interaction with all levels of operations/senior staff, customers regulatory bodies, and major suppliers.
  • Assists the Service Department with preparing accurate quotations for the various Programs.
  • Ensures service quotes are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with the customers regularly for status updates regarding submitted quotes.
  • Processes contracts/orders received in response to submitted service quotes.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the work being quoted to be able to address questions from customers.
  • Ensures all contract deliverables have been provided prior to closing the project.
  • Participates in regular interface meetings with other departments to ensure effective information flow, provides program guidance, and obtains program/contract status.
  • Attends "as required" meetings to participate in the resolution of issues related to the project to which they have been assigned.
  • Communicates with program customers to provide project status and resolves issues ranging from schedule and technical compliance to service and warranty clarification.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills, successful problem resolution, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of market and competition and aligns department with strategic goals.
  • Demonstrates a proven ability to manage multiple projects from multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Strong financial literacy, including the ability to read/analyze programs department budgets and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
  • Working knowledge of cost schedule, change management and risk/opportunity management.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Microsoft Project and Excel).
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work on seaborn vessels and in uncomfortable working environments.
  • Regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years experience in project leadership.
  • Three (3) years of United States government contracting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items and Familiarization with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) rules and regulations.
